George Clooney Auctioning Tesla to Fund Releif Work in Sudan
Revving up for his latest endorsement, George Clooney put his handsome looks on display while filming an advertisement for Mercedes-Benz in Sarnico, Italy on Monday (July 30).
Looking casual in a pocketed grey polo and jeans, the "Up in the Air" actor sported his aviator sunglasses as he walked around the set while at one point pausing to chat with crew members and give nearby shutterbugs a friendly wave.
This isn't the first time George has lent his clout to promote the luxury car. In 2011, the 51-year-old starred in a Chinese commercial for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Long Wheel Base which was filmed in Beverly Hills, California.
Although it's pretty obvious Mr. Clooney enjoys sporty cars, he's willing to give up one of his rare whips for a good cause after announcing he will auction off his 2008 Tesla "Signature 100" Roadster to help fund relief work in Sudan.
According to Gooding and Co. the all-electric car has just 1,700 miles on it and is expected to bring in bids as high as $125,000 during the August 19th auction at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
All proceeds will benefit the Satellite Sentinel Project, which is a non-profit organization that monitors the borders of Sudan using satellite technology with the hope of preventing another civil war between northern and southern Sudan.
